2022 Symposium of the Frontiers in Biomedical Magnetic Resonance
Introduction
Dear all,
The Taiwan Magnetic Resonance Society will hold the annual meeting on the Recent Advances in Biomedical Magnetic Resonance Research on September 1, 2022 at the activity center of the Yangming Campus of National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tong University. During the meeting, Dr. Elizabeth O’Day, CEO of Olaris, a Massachusetts biotechnology company, will deliver a special keynote speech on how her company uses nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to analyze human metabolomics to assist in the development of precision medicine. Dr. O’Day has been elected as the prestigious 40 under 40 entrepreneurial elites by Boston Business Journals for two consecutive years (2021 and 2022). Her participation of this meeting offers a rare opportunity to learn more about the latest development of NMR-based metabolomics and precision medicine. Following the keynote speed how, two parallel sessions will be organized for domestic academic and clinical research experts in NMR, MRI, chemical biology and metabolomics to share the latest research results.
With a great selection of experts from a broad range of research fields, we expect an all-encompassing forum to have fruitful discussions and exchanges. The topics include the development of new coronary pneumonia drugs in metabolomics, the analysis of fish sauce and metabolites, the MRI analysis of the three-dimensional glycation reaction, and the MRI of hypoxic-ischemic brain lesions. I am very excited about these research topics and very much look forward to discussing with everyone of you.
To encourage young researchers (students, assistants and postdoctoral fellows) to advance their research, this meeting will hold a poster competition in the morning and select several poster contributors to give an oral presentation in the afternoon, and several top prizes will be awarded at the end of the meeting. You are most welcome to participate in the poster competition to share your research results. Please complete the online registration before August 15 (Mon), and for those who participate in the poster presentation, the Society will send an English abstract template file, please fill in the abstract and send it to web.tmrs@gmail.com.
While the world is gradually opening up for a post COVID-19 era, Taiwan still faces great challenges due to the spread of the Omicron variants since the beginning of this year (2022). Nevertheless, I hope this in-person meeting will provide a great opportunity to exchange our ideas, new findings and foster collaborations. To ensure the safety of all participants, I ask all participants to wear face masks throughout the meeting to protect yourselves and others.
We sincerely welcome all of you to attend the meeting.
Sincerely yours
Shang-Te Danny Hsu
